Batgirl is a mini Rex rabbit and Jupiter is a holland lop rabbit they were surrendered to MMFS in the summer of 2024 as a bonded pair. These two had a loving family who’s home was significantly damaged by the Vermont floods. They needed to find them a new home. Jupiter and Batgirl can often be found cuddling together. Batgirl has some medical issues that have to be monitored monthly. They are a very very bonded pair that will live out their days at MMFS and be monitored for medical needs.

Blue is a lovely lop rabbit. He is friendly and curious. Blue was purchased at a pet store and the family found out they were terribly allergic to him. The pet store would not take him back and he had to live out on the porch and not get much attention. Eventually MMFS had room to welcome him in, get his vetting done and get him neutered. He loves to sploot and dig in his tunnel, and his favorite enrichment toy is his stack of cups. He never tires from knocking them over! We absolutely love his playful personality and he gets plenty of love here at the sanctuary. He is a favorite of the kids in our afterschool program.

Eddie Vedder is a harlequin bunny. He was a owner surrender due to lack of time and attendtion. He is a good sized boy with beautiful coloring. He has a docile and calm personality, and we love it when he gets comfy and stretches out for his naps. Eddie loves his space and he grooms Phabio through their areas, and he listens to Pearl Jam on occasion as well.

Jessica Rabbit came to us from NYC where she traveled via Amtrak to the great state of Vermont to join us at MMFS. She is a 3.5 year old Flemish Giant who needed a change of scenery. She was a loved classroom rabbit, but her teacher went on maternity leave and her circumstances changed leaving her to live in a smaller area and forming some wounds on her legs. Her original teacher knew she needed a better life so she reached out the Farm Sanctuary network to look for an approved home. MMFS offered her a spot and she joined up and we lover her so! Since she has gotten to MMFS she has had a lot of attention, been to the vet to access her wounds, and of course is now spayed which has made her a happier BUN-BUN! Flemish Giants are traditionally raised for meat so she would have had a very different life if her guardian teacher had not original rescued her from the janitor at school who raises them for meat..... WE LOVE you Jessica and we are so glad you are at MMFS.

Herbie and Wendall came to us in December 2024 after being deserted in a house after the people had moved out. Herbert had a life threatening problem in his genital area. We jumped in to get Herbert immediate surgery, and he pulled through and regained his health after being neutered. Wendall also was neutered and they are both living together enjoying their carefree life. Their social skills have greatly improved, and their overall health is looking brighter and brighter.

Ollie is a wonderful small lion head male rabbit who came from a loving human who was very allergic to him and had to re-home him. He is about 5 years old and simply the sweetest little guy. He teaches a great lesson to folks interested in rabbits because allergies to rabbits are very common and many rabbits have to be re-homed because of human allergies Ollie is a great ambassador rabbit to MMFS.

Phabio is an Angora rabbit who came from the Humane Sociey of Chittenden Country. He ended up there as an un-neutered male that was so matted and gross that they had to shave him and clean him up so they could neuter him. His hair is unbelievably soft, and he is social and cuddly. Keeping up with his coat is no easy feat! Luckily Phabio has a little fan club of volunteers who come several times a week to brush him and keep him looking and feeling good. He is a wonderful ambassador bunny with his friendly personality, and he is loved by all the kids who meet him.

He was brought into a local veterinary clinic due with a severe eye infection. His family surrendered him to the veterinary clinic - and they called us for assistance. When Arthur arrived at Merrymac Farm Sanctuary in September 2024, it was clear he was in very poor health. His eye was infected with a growing tumor and he was having major digestive concerns. He will also need to be neutered. In March 2025, Arthur’s journey continued with a trip to Massachusetts for specialty surgery. This very special boy is on the mend and we can’t wait to see him thrive! Read more
